Animal Farm from George Orwell
This books is one of those experiences that sometimes you have to look around and pray that you haven't entered the world of the book.
While I was reading I realise the irony of certain situations and how history repeats itself alongside so many diferent cycles. The cycle of womanhood and motherhood are not the same as fatherhood and manhood however they are a cycle, and with that it means they share an ending and a beginning.
Animal farm made me think of the injustices in the labour department but then I saw how the book never talked about what was going on behind the walls, what they were up to that the others could not actually see, how they were learning not only developing skills in the world of humankind but also the technique to manipulate their fellow comrades. The manipulation upon the mind makes the reader go back to check oon what was previously said. I myself had to go back and read their 6 commandments to see if it was really true what had been said. I questioned my own memory. And although i could go back and read the previous writing, the animals had to believe in their eyes and in what the pigs were instructing them to do.
I have to say the most complex part was the final fate of Boxer. He was the character that gave hope to the reader, the one that although things were going rough he powered through and delivered results. His end makes the reader question how valuable one is when it comes to them as an individual or as a worker. Boxer was one of the best workers in the farm, and yet the pigs deliver him to the slaughter. He was close to being saved from this but then when the reader thinks that the fear of losing a dear friend will enforce the other animals to understand what's happening, they are manipulated all over again. They are forced to believe that the transport was not for the slaughter house but a van that simply needed a remodel, that he died comfortbly in a bed with all the care available to him instead of a slaughter house.
The animals are manipulated by animals. And the humans remain on the top because the pigs had to learn from somewhere and I believe that the reader finally realises who taught the pigs those tricks when they realise the pigs are no longer animals but humans.
